چکیده

Individuation is one of the most important concepts defined by Carl G. Jung, and he and other analytic psychologists have developed a variety of techniques, including active imagination and dream analysis, to facilitate the process of individuation. Nevertheless, individuation is a universal human potential, and various spiritual traditions have their own practices to facilitate it. In particular, Neoplatonism has much in common with depth psychology and its techniques, which is not surprising, since Jung was influenced by Neoplatonism, both directly and indirectly through the related systems of Gnosticism and alchemy (as discussed in more detail later). Therefore we can learn from Neoplatonic spiritual practices, which also facilitate individuation, and thereby expand our range of analytic techniques.
